TIDL Member, Jamie Mitchell, PhD (Assistant Professor University of Michigan School of Social Work), has been featured on Stateside’s radio. The conversation focuses on the under-representation of minorities within research and the disparities in research outcomes.
Dr. Mitchell is the co-director of Healthier Black Elders Center of Detroit and an investigator with the Michigan Center for Urban and African American Aging Research. Dr. Mitchell discusses her experience in research with minority populations and health issues related to aging. Mitchell explains the need for more research that engages different populations and the different ongoing initiatives to represent diverse populations within research.
