The TIDL team heads to Washington D.C. for the annual 2020 Society for Social Work and Research Annual Conference (SSWR).  This four day symposium, centered around reducing racial and economic inequality, will discuss current research impacting mental health.

Members of TIDL leadership and faculty will be presenting their findings, interventions, and solutions that are changing mental health.  TIDL presenters include: Addie Weaver, Ph.D., Matthew J. Smith, Ph.D., David Cordova, Ph.D., Jaclynn Hawkins, Ph.D., Anao Zhang, Ph.D., Lindsay Bornheimer, Ph.D., Andrew Grogan Kaylor, Ph.D., Jessica Wotajik, Ph.D., Jamie Mitchell and Shannon Blajeski.

At the conference, Joseph Himle, Ph.D. Dr. Himle, founder of TIDL, Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, and Howard V. Brabson Collegiate Professor of Social Work, will be inducted as a 2020 fellow of the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare (AASWSW) alongside Todd Herrenkohl and Marion Elizabeth Blue, Professor of Children and Families.  

The AASWSW confers the honor on candidates for their distinguished accomplishments as scholars and practitioners dedicated to achieving excellence in high-impact work that advances social good.  The AASWSW comprises 129 Fellows from more than 38 universities. Michigan Social Work now has 11 Academy members.
